Fun and Fireworks for a Good Cause

PIERRE, S.D. – Support a good cause and spend time with your family on July 20 at the 6th annual Waubay Community FunFest.

"This event is geared toward families, allowing parents and children to participate together for a day," said Sandra Johnston, Waubay City Librarian. "We have several events scheduled to get the entire community involved."

The event will feature a kid-powered parade, climbing wall, barrel train rides, country bingo, people’s cookie choice, anything goes sale, raffles and concessions. Special guests include KCPO-TV’s Terri N’ Todd. The "Price is Right Show" and fireworks will wrap up the event.

Most events will be held at the Surma-Jackson City Park and the Waubay School Gym. Admission is free except for the "Price is Right Show", which is $2.

The Waubay Community FunFest is an event designed as a fundraiser for the reading program at the Waubay City Library. The reading program supports 50-60 children in the surrounding area.
